TRIP DETAILS

Yala Peak, one of the nearest trekking peaks to Kathmandu, is a popular trekking peak among trekkers. With the elevation of 5,530m/18,700 ft. Yala Peak is less challenging and technically easier than other trekking peaks in Nepal. Yala Peak climbing is an adventurous trek in the wonderful Langtang Valley, which was once a forbidden land. The trip in the valley offers the unmapped trails, green lush vegetation, pristine nature, picturesque landscape, sacred lakes, glaciers, and a stupendous view of the Ganesh Himal range and the Manaslu range, including the various mountains.

While heading towards Yala peak, the pinnacle of the peak is a serene spot which offers panoramic Himalayas scenery where one can have stunning views of Langtang Lirung (7,246m/23,773ft), Dorje Lakpa (6,990m/22,933ft), Gangchempo (6,338m/20,985ft) and Shishapangma (8,027m/26,335ft) on the Tibet side.

Yala Peak is one of the few Himalayan peaks suitable for climbers without extensive mountaineering experience, making it ideal for trekkers with good physical fitness and basic trekking experience. No prior technical climbing background is required; however, your experienced guide will provide basic climbing techniques and safety instructions during the ascent, ensuring a safe and rewarding introduction to Himalayan peak climbing.

The Yala Peak trek has unparalleled natural beauty with a combination of cultural riches. The Langtang region has over seventy glaciers of different sizes, Langtang and Ganesh Himal mountain ranges and high- altitude lakes including Gosaikunda, Parvati Kunda, Bhairav Kunda, Dudhkunda. The Tibetan-origin Tamang community are the dominant class of the area. Their culture goes back hundreds of years. The base camp of Yala Peak is situated at Kyanjin Gompa (3,749m), while its high camp is situated at 4,800m, from where we make our summit bid.

Hence, Yala Peak Climbing is a truly enjoyable, stunning, easy, and popular adventure, perfect for all trekking and climbing enthusiasts. We wholeheartedly welcome you at any time to share this unforgettable journey with Himalaya Sacred Trek and Expedition. The dream is yours, feel it, embrace it, and make it a reality.

We descended to Syabrubesi for the overnight stay.

Day 03Trek to Lama Hotel (2,470m)

The first day’s excitement trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi River, flowing down from Tibet and following the Langtang Khola. After a visit to the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche, follow the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge, the trail gradually ascends to Bamboo, passing by a landslide. The trail goes through the subtropical forest, which is covered by oak and maple, massive spruce, fir and blue pine. The variety of wildlife, yellow-throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears, etc., are inhabitants of the forest. Afterwards, you will trek gently to Rimche (2,400m). And at the end, your trail is level to the Lama hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 04Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m)

The day starts with a gentle climb, but it soon becomes steeper, climbing through wild forests of hemlocks, oaks, maples and white & pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang khola. The tantalizing glimpse of snow-capped peaks starts appearing along with a fleeting view of Mt.Langtang Lirung (7,244m) through the trees. The trail leads to a log bridge, and then, climbing further, we come across lush meadows of Ghora tabela (2,992m). The trail crosses a stream and climbs past several glaciers of water, passes through the drive mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang (3,430m), headquarters of Langtang National Park. The village has flat-roofed Tibetan-style houses, and the elaborately carved door windows of the upper village are worth exploring. Valley is surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields where buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley are planted, and it is easy to find yak and the wild goats wandering around you.

Day 05Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,750m)

The trail winds through the village and climbs a ridge topped by a large chorten. It then climbs gradually past an impressive Mani wall, crossing a stream to the small village of Mundu (3,442m). After crossing several small streams with wooden cantilever bridges and moraines, you can finally see the monastery of Kyanjiin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous government-operated cheese factory.
