TRIP DETAILS

The 9-Day Mardi Himal Trek is a hidden gem or an unseen gem that has opened in the Annapurna region. Trekking to the Mardi Himal has been recognized recently and has gained a lot of popularity in a short time.

Mardi Himal Base Camp is the highest point of the Mardi Himal Trek, which is at 4,500m. The highest point we spend a night on the Mardi Himal Trek is at high camp, which is 3,580m. The highlight of this trek is Machhapurche, also known as Fishtail (6,993m), Annapurna South (7,010m), and Mount Hiunchuli (6,441m).

The Mardi Himal Trek can be done throughout the year; however, the best seasons are September to December and March to June, when the weather is stable, and mountain views are at their best. The entire trek covers approximately 49 km and can be completed in 12 days, making it an ideal option for trekkers with limited time. The most challenging section of the trek is the ascent from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp, which involves steep and rugged terrain.

The trail rewards trekkers with breathtaking alpine landscapes, panoramic Himalayan views, and a deep sense of peace, making it a truly Himalaya Sacred Trek and Expedition. The quiet surroundings, untouched nature, and the spiritual presence of the mountains create a powerful atmosphere of reverence and reflection, allowing trekkers and climbers to experience not only physical adventure but also a profound connection to the sacred Himalayas.

If you are interested in exploring more, Himalaya Sacred Trek and Expedition also offers a wide range of other Annapurna region treks, including the Annapurna Circuit Trek, Khopra Ridge Trek, and more, all customizable to suit your time, fitness level, and travel preferences.

Highlights of the Mardi Himal Trek

  • Off the beaten path around the Annapurna region
  • Observing various species of flora and fauna
  • The great countryside hills, terrace farming and mountain landscapes
  • Explore the ethnic culture and their lifestyle
  • Pristine mountain views of the Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal, Fishtail, and Dhaulagiri

Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu

You will be welcomed at the international airport of Kathmandu by our company representatives and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be for relaxing and a quick briefing from your trekking guide about your upcoming adventure. You will stay overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02Drive from Kathmandu to Australian Camp via Kade (2,060m, 6-7 hours)

Early in the morning, we drove to Kade, viewing beautiful scenarios of Kathmandu on the way, such as rivers, forests, hills and many more. We take lunch on the way at day time then start our journey to Kade. After reaching Kade, we start to trek to Australian Camp for 1 and a half hours (the best viewpoint of sunrise and the panoramic view of himalayas view). Overnight at a guest house.

Day 03Trek from Australian Camp to Forest Camp (2,550m, 4-5 hours)

Breakfast and enjoy the Himalayan views, and start to trek 10 km with the passage through the dense forests covered by red rhododendron (the national flower of Nepal). The appearance of flowers in a dense green forest makes it slightly more delightful. Our trek continues until we reach the forest camp, which is locally known as Kokar. Overnight at Forest camp.

Day 04Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp (3,580m, 6 hours)

We start our patrol to Low Camp through the murky forest, viewing and applauding the beautiful forest filled with rhododendron and other admirable flora and fauna. From the Low Camp, we can get a very peaceful and charming view of Mt.Machapuchare (Mt.Fishtail). We also enjoy the cultures and lifestyles of residents. After lunch at low camp, our trek starts, leaving the dense forest behind, and on the way, we can view the beautiful appearance of the Danphe (the national bird of Nepal) if our fortune is on our side. We reach High Camp and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains and the environment around. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 05Trek from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) and Back to High Camp (3,580m, 6 hours)

Our trek starts with waking early in the morning and viewing the beautiful sunrise. Then, after having breakfast, we trek towards Mardi Himal Base Camp. Here we find the beautiful view of Dzoko (yak/cow cross-breeds) grazing up here, as well as Danphe Pheasant. In summer, the sheep and goats from lower villages are brought up to graze in this area. After some hours, we reach Base Camp (4,450m) from where we can have a view of the Annapurna Sanctuary and all of the peaks in the Sanctuary, as well as Hiunchuli and Machhapurchare (Mt.Fishtail). And we descend to low camp via high camp. Overnight in Low camp.

Day 06Trek from High Camp to Siding Village (1,750m, 6 hours)

On the way back, we took a different route, so completing a circuit from High Camp, there is a trail that goes down to Siding Village. Siding is a traditional Nepalese village far from city lights, which is naturally beautiful and consists of small lodges, houses and woods mesmerising your eyes. We trek to this beautiful village rather than going back to the forest camp (Kokar). Here, you can enjoy the lifestyle and culture of local inhabitants. We spent our night here.

Day 07Trek from Siding Village to Lwang (1,500m, 3 hours) and Drive to Pokhara (820m, 2 hours)

From Siding, we trek to Lwang, and on the way, you will pass the villages of Kalimati and Ghalel. Kalmati is mainly a Brahmin village with Ghalel and siding mixed Brahmin and Gurung. After reaching Lwang, we drove back to Pokhara and stayed overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 08Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400m, 6 hours)

Early in the morning, we drove back to Kathmandu, viewing beautiful scenarios of Pokhara and Kathmandu on the way, such as rivers, forests, hills and many more. After reaching Kathmandu, our trip ends, so transport you to your hotel or any desired drop-off place in Kathmandu.

Day 09Transport to Airport for Final Departure

Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! We will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
