TRIP DETAILS

Manaslu Round Trek is also known as Manaslu Circuit Trek, which is one of the best trekking routes in Manaslu. Manaslu is the eighth-highest mountain on earth at 8,163m (26,781ft), and the Nepalese government only permitted trekking of this circuit in 1991 A.D which fully opened in 1992 A.D.

The 14-day Manaslu Round Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, visiting traditional Gurung and Tibetan-influenced settlements such as Jagaat, Deng, Namrung, Lho Gaun, Sama Gaun, and Samdo. It follows an ancient salt trading route along the steep-sided Budhi Gandaki river with pine forests, Buddhist monasteries, different flora and fauna and endangered animals such as the snow leopard and the panda.

The highlight of the Manaslu Round trek is the thrilling crossing of the Larkya La Pass (5,106m), one of the longest and most dramatic Himalayan passes, rewarding trekkers with panoramic views of glaciers and towering peaks before descending to the alpine valley of Bimthang. The journey concludes by trekking to Dharapani, connecting with the Annapurna region, followed by a drive to Besisahar and return to Kathmandu. Accommodation throughout the trek is in comfortable teahouses, making it an adventurous yet accessible experience.

The circular trek around Manaslu counts as one of the best Himalayan treks and also an adventurous tea house trek. Manaslu trek is remote, physically demanding, culturally enriching, scenically uplifting, geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating.
