TRIP DETAILS

Also known as the fish-tail mountain, Machhapuchhre is among the most famous mountains of Nepal. This magnificent mountain lies in the Pokhara valley, which is a major tourist destination itself. The mountain is ever full of trekkers from all around the world and even local Nepalis who come to take a glimpse of the spectacular fishtail up close. The trek through the Machhapuchhre Base Camp features enchanting views of the mountain ranges surrounding the Pokhara valley and rich vegetation that allows a diverse range of faunal species to flourish. Apart from the natural gifts, it’s blessed with cultural diversity that keeps you in awe.

The 11-Day Machhapuchhre Base Camp trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by a short drive to Nayapul, where the journey on foot starts. Passing through Birethanti, the trail leads to Ghandruk, a beautiful Gurung village with an optional visit to the Gurung Museum. The trek continues via Kimrung Danda to Chhomrong, offering stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Gangapurna.

From Chhomrong, the trail ascends through forests and river valleys to Dovan and Machhapuchhre Base Camp, before reaching the highlight of the trek, Annapurna Base Camp. After enjoying the panoramic mountain scenery, the route descends to Jhinu Danda, known for its natural hot springs, and continues to Nayapul. The trek concludes with drives back to Pokhara and Kathmandu, followed by an airport transfer for departure.

The best seasons for trekking in the Annapurna region are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is stable, and the mountain views are at their finest. These peak seasons can be crowded, so for trekkers seeking quieter trails, winter (December to February) is also a rewarding option with proper clothing and gear. Trekking during the summer or the monsoon season offers a unique experience, showcasing lush landscapes and vibrant flora, making it another beautiful time to explore the Annapurna region with Himalaya Sacred Trek and Expedition.

If you are interested in exploring more, Himalaya Sacred Trek and Expedition also offers a wide range of other Annapurna region treks, including the Annapurna Circuit Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Mardi Himal Trek, Khopra Ridge Trek, and more, all customizable to suit your time, fitness level, and travel preferences.
