TRIP DETAILS

Lauribina La with Gosaikunda pass trekking presents very good value with excellent mountain vistas, brilliant landscapes, including clean lodge accommodation with good local food. Most importantly, it is a less crowded trail compared with other most demanding trek routes of the Nepal Himalayas.

Gosaikunda Lake is a sacred lake and an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, attracting devotees throughout the year. From here, the trail continues across rugged moraine and stone-covered terrain to Suryakunda Pass (4,630m), before descending into the scenic Helambu Valley.

The journey begins with a trek through the Langtang Valley toward Kyanjin Gompa, providing ideal acclimatization and an opportunity to walk through pristine forests. If you are fortunate, you may encounter rare wildlife such as the elusive red panda or langur monkeys. During spring, the forest bursts into vibrant shades of red and pink as rhododendrons bloom, earning this route the name “Rhododendron Trek.”

At the upper end of the valley, surrounded by towering peaks and yak pastures, the landscape becomes a peaceful high-altitude sanctuary. Here, you will have ample time to explore, acclimatize, and enjoy stunning views extending toward the Tibetan Himalayas. While descending, you may witness everyday village life, with women carrying firewood, locals weaving bamboo, and farmers cultivating their fields.

The trek up to Gosainkunda and over Laurebina La with Himalaya Sacred Trek and Expedition takes you through some of Nepal’s most rugged countries. You can emulate Hindu pilgrims and wash your face in the holy lake, which washes away all your past sins. Then there is the thrill of crossing the Laurebina La, which is adorned with hundreds of prayer flags and surrounded by stone cairns dows into the Helambu Valley.
