This trek is the most famous trek where you are led to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world (Mt. Everest). This trek offers you the best scenic view of upper himalayas mountain, Mani stone, prayer flags, upper nature, memorial stones and gompas. We will have a breathtaking view of the sunrise as well as the sunset. The 13-day Classic Everest Base Camp trek is the journey that you should not miss, where you are accompanied by the Himalaya beauty, rivers, nature and the experience that you will not forget. The Khumbu region is filled with beautiful features. And explore himalayan Sherpa culture with old lifestyle, architecture, stone home and many more classical things you have ever seen and also presents a pristine alpine environment to explore.

Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu

We complete our customs formalities at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Afterwards, there will be a representative from our company who will take you to your hotel. We can then spend the rest of the day resting. In the evening, we get to try Nepalese cuisine at a welcome dinner hosted by our company. Overnight in Kathmandu. 

Day 02Drive from Kathmandu to Manthali Airport (Ramechhap) (496m, 4.30 hours)

After lunch, we drove to Manthali airport, which is located in Ramechhap district, so it is also known as Ramechhap airport, as it faces attractive views of Kathmandu and Manthali. During the trekking season, flights operate via Ramechhap, while in the off-season, direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are available. After reaching Manthali, we will stay overnight in a lodge at Manthali.

Day 03Flight from Manthali to Lukla (25 min) and Trek to Phakding (2,652m, 3-4 hours)

Early in the morning, we flew from Manthali to Lukla, experiencing incredible and beautiful views of Manthali and Lukla. After reaching Lukla, we start to trek to a ridge at 2800m, before a gradual ascent to the final ridge from where we descend to Surke, following the path toward Phakding. You will trek on the trail cut deep into the steep rocky side of the valley, where you can come across mule caravans making their way alongside you. At the end, the trekking trail joins back onto the Dudh Koshi River valley, and you can see amazing views of the ebbing river below as you stand high above on the steep side of the impenetrable valley. Overnight at a guest house or lodge. 

Day 04Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m, 5-6 hours)

After Breakfast at Phakding, we will pass through the famous Namche Bazaar, where altitude gains as the walk progress morning walk starts following the river and crossing several times to reach Monjo village near Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here walking on river valley and george covered with woodland of tall rhododendron pines and fir trees. After a few hours, we will reach Namche Bazaar, an ideal place for a rest day to acclimatize to the main town/ village of Khumbu, where a colourful and exciting Saturday market takes place once a week.

Day 05Acclimatization Day, also Hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m) and Trek to Khyangjuma (3,610m, 2-3 hours)

After breakfast, we will go to the viewpoint, just behind the back of Sagarmatha National Park headquarters. The panoramic views of the Everest Himalayan chain, Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and many more. Then we walk down to the Sherpa cultural centre where we can observe the gallery and the documentary of Sherpa’s ascending Mt.Everest. We hike up to Everest View Hotel via Syangboche airport, have a cup of tea and trek to Khyangjuma, where we can see many wonderful mountains as well as not so much crowd, a peaceful place to stay, overnight at a lodge. 

Day 06Trek from Kyangjum to Phortse Village ( 3,950 m, 4-5 hours trek )

After having a fresh breakfast with the Everest sunrise view. We will take a gentle walk to Phortse village, which is a very quiet village, situated in the foothills of the mountains in the Everest region, with a settlement of 80 Sherpa houses. We can see beautiful forests covered with greenery and hills, cross beautiful himalayas flowing rivers, if we reach in season, we can see hills with snowfall. We can see culture, old instruments, and the lifestyle of the Sherpa people exploring the beautiful nature. 

Day 07Trek from Phortse to Dingboche ( 4,417 m, 5-6 hours trek)

On the morning of our trek, after breakfast, we will slowly make our way to Dingboche, which is the main route to Everest Base Camp. It is really a quiet route. We can see yaks, jungle animals and birds on the way. We can see hard-working local people and their different lifestyles. We will have lunch on the way, about 1 pm, to gain new energy and reach our destination, Dingboche.

Day 08Acclimatization and Rest day, Hike to Nagarjun Hill

Today, you can have another acclimatization day. After breakfast, we will see the beauty of Dingboche village with the peaceful people. Then we will have a gentle hike upto Nagarjun hill for the stunning view of the Himalayas, hills, and small Sherpa villages about 3 hours from Dingboche. Today we will enjoy the beauty of nature and rest for the next day’s trip.

Day 09Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,918m, 5-6 hours trek )

On this day, we will be walking through the side of the Khumbu glacier above Pheriche with a flat hike after our breakfast in Dingboche. We will feel soft snow and cool wind with the Khumbu Glacier on this standard route. We will be crossing old memorial stones and see the upper Himalayan nature. 

We will share our route with other Sherpa people and trekkers who are going on expeditions. After reaching Lobuche, we will prepare for our next exciting trek to Everest Base Camp. Overnight at a lodge. 

Day 10Trek to Gorak Shep (5,140m), Everest Base Camp Trek (5,364m, 8-9 hours)

Today, after breakfast, early in the morning, we will hike to the Gorak Shep with an up and down hill path with beautiful mountains, hills, and snow glaciers. We will have lunch in Gorak Shep and hike to the highest base camp in the world, where the trail follows windy and rocky paths and the ridge of Khumbu glaciers. After reaching Base Camp, we will see a fantastic view of the Khumbu icefall and colourful camp sites of the expedition and fall back to Gorak Shep for the night stay because the trekking group are not typically allowed to stay overnight in BC.

Day 11Hike from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m), then Back to Pheriche (4,210 m, 7-8 hours)

We will be starting the trek for 3 hours early in the morning to Kala Patthar (5,545m), after tea, to see the breathtaking panoramic sunrise view of Mt everest, Mt pumori, Mt Lingtren, Khumbutse, Mt Nuptse, Lhotse, Mt Ama Dablam and many other hills and mountains with a cool, windy environment. We will be capturing the beauty of sunrise with the group in camera and our souls that remain for our whole life. Then we will gently walk down to Gorakshep for breakfast. Then we will trek down to Pheriche, which is the place of farming potatoes, buckwheat and keeping yaks. We can see lots of Mani (prayer stone), stupas and statues on the way.  It is also the place where trekkers take acclimatization day. We will stay here in Pheriche with the stunning view of himalayas and hills for the night.

Day 12Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3,860m) then Namche (3,440m, 8-9 hours)

On this day of our trip, we will be exploring Tengboche Gompa after a gentle hike of 4 hours, which is one of the oldest and biggest gompas in the Everest region. We will see various old instruments, old architecture, Mani, monks’ instruments, and prayer flags. On this day, we can also explore some of the Sherpa villages along with their culture and beautiful lifestyle. After exploring the gompa, we will have a downhill walk in a moderate climate. We will cross the Imja River, Pangboche and walk on a steep path to reach Namche for the night after a trek of about 8 hours.

Day 13Trek from Namche to Lukla (2,800m, 7-8 hours)

After having breakfast in Namche, we will slowly move down the steep path crossing the Dudh Koshi river bridge. We will see various small gompas, animals like yaks, prayer flags, and green nature covered with beautiful rhododendron flowers. After walking for a few hours, we will get into some of the villages and on the way, we can see the lukla appearing beautiful and fascinating from a far distance. Then we will finally reach Lukla and enjoy the success of the trip, which will be our last night in the Himalayas.

Day 14 Flight from Lukla to Manthali Airport (25 minutes) and Drive Back to Kathmandu (1,400m, 4.30 hours)

Morning transfer to Lukla Tenzing-Hillary airport for a short sweeping flight to Manthali airport located in Ramechhap district, facing scenic views of mountains, green scenery of hills and farm fields with nice villages and towns as the flight lands at Manthali airport and drive back to Kathmandu and stay overnight.

Day 15Transport to Airport for Final Adventure

Your adventure for this trip comes to an end today! We will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
