Annapurna IV (7,525m) is one of the six major peaks in the Annapurna massif and is considered comparatively a trouble-free peak to climb among the Annapurna range, a stunning Marsyangdi valley with the impressive views of Annapurna II, III, Manaslu, and Gangapurna. Annapurna IV was first climbed in 1955 by a German group led by Heinz Steinmetz through the North Face and Northwest edge. Annapurna IV expedition is easy to climb, although there are risks of avalanches between Camp I and Camp II.Â
The normal route is approached from the Manang side. It requires two hours of walking from the base camp to reach the bottom of the mountain. It requires approximately 65-70 degrees of steep climbing with fixed ropes, approximately 500 meters to reach Camp I. To reach camp II, approximately 1000m of fixed ropes will be required along the ridge and some stretches of steep climbing. From Camp II to Camp II, it is relatively easy with zig-zag crossing and gradually climbing up. However, it will require approximately 1300-1500m of fixed rope. From Camp III to the summit, generally fixed rope is not required, and the main rope is used. There are possibilities of avalanches between Camp I and Camp II.
The attractions of mountaineering in Nepal do not end with a successful ascent. The other fascinating aspect is the approach to the peaks. It allows you to experience varied mountain life and mountain terrain with an incredible variety of ethnicities, flora and fauna. This expedition starts from Besisahar on the Annapurna Circuit trek trail all the way to Pisang and then to near Hongde. From here, the trail is towards absolute wilderness near the Nepal Mountaineering School.
Organized by Himalaya Sacred Trek & Expedition, the Annapurna IV Expedition is an ideal choice for climbers seeking a 7,000-meter Himalayan ascent that balances technical challenge, safety, cultural immersion, and awe-inspiring mountain scenery.

We will organize and check all necessary climbing gear and equipment, review the climbing route and itinerary, and attend a detailed briefing. After completing the preparations, if time allows and participants are interested, we may explore nearby sites. This day ensures everyone is fully prepared as we begin our peak climbing journey from tomorrow.
From Kathmandu valley, we will start our journey to a small but old town of Besisahar. The sight of hills as well as deteriorating rivers will keep us fascinated during the journey. The ride will be about seven to eight hours long. We will be spending the night in a local lodge after arriving at Besisahar.
After having breakfast, we will head towards Chame, viewing the beautiful scenery of the vicinity. On the way, we can view the beautiful region of Dharapani, crossing the great Marshyangdi River. The vegetation and settlements start to be different from here as we will be in higher altitude. The influence of the Tibetan lifestyle is strong in Chame. Also, the view of the Peak is beautiful from Chame, and we will spend the night in a local teahouse after arriving at Chame.Â
Today, our journey leads the trek to Pisang, a small village along the bank of the Marshyangdi River. We will walk through beautiful coniferous forests and small settlements of mountain people. A steep and narrow path through a very dense forest will bring us to a dramatic curved rock face, rising 1,500m above the river. As the trail opens up, we get surrounded by majestic Himalayan Peaks. After walking through these wonderful suites, we arrive at Pisang. Overnight at Lower Pisang.Â
Early in the morning, we trek towards Humde today. Humde was an airport, but now it doesn’t take any flights. So we trek towards the Humde and scan the beautiful views that can be seen. After arriving at Humde, we will stay overnight.
Today we rest and have an acclimatization to maintain our health and exercise our bodies. We also trek to Nagwal and again return, then we stay overnight.Â
After having breakfast, we depart from Humde and are ready to trek towards Annapurna IV Base Camp to continue our journey. We will be able to see views of the White Mountains. After walking for a few hours, we reached Annapurna IV Base Camp and spent the night at camp.Â
This is the most important day for all climbers. And before climbing, we do a Buddhist ceremony as well as pray to god for success, which can take about 2 days, one for a rest day and the next day for the ceremony. And after that, we start our climbing period. After the peak summit, we take some photos and view the scenarios, then we trek down to Base Camp.
We trek back to Humde. We follow the same path that we took before. Also same scenery, so we gain more opportunities to experience natural beauty. After arriving, we stay overnight.Â
Today we again depart Humde. And after breakfast, we drive to Besisahar. We have finished our trekking and summiting course. We will drive for about six to nine hours. We will have lunch on the way. After reaching there, we will stay overnight.Â
After breakfast, we depart from Besisahar and drive towards Kathmandu. We will view the greenery of our country on the way through the windows. After arriving at Kathmandu, we transport you to your hotel. Then take a rest after a long journey and stay overnight.Â
