Yala Peak, one of the nearest trekking peaks to Kathmandu, is a popular trekking peak among trekkers. With the elevation of 5,530m/18,700 ft. Yala Peak is less challenging and technically easier than other trekking peaks in Nepal. Yala Peak climbing is an adventurous trek in the wonderful Langtang Valley, which was once a forbidden land. The trip in the valley offers the unmapped trails, green lush vegetation, pristine nature, picturesque landscape, sacred lakes, glaciers, and a stupendous view of the Ganesh Himal range and the Manaslu range, including the various mountains.Â
While heading towards Yala peak, the pinnacle of the peak is a serene spot which offers panoramic Himalayas scenery where one can have stunning views of Langtang Lirung (7,246m/23,773ft), Dorje Lakpa (6,990m/22,933ft), Gangchempo (6,338m/20,985ft) and Shishapangma (8,027m/26,335ft) on the Tibet side.Â
Yala Peak is one of the few Himalayan peaks suitable for climbers without extensive mountaineering experience, making it ideal for trekkers with good physical fitness and basic trekking experience. No prior technical climbing background is required; however, your experienced guide will provide basic climbing techniques and safety instructions during the ascent, ensuring a safe and rewarding introduction to Himalayan peak climbing.

We complete our customs formalities at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Afterwards, there will be a representative from our company who will take you to your hotel. We can then spend the rest of the day resting. In the evening, we get to try Nepalese cuisine at a welcome dinner hosted by our company. Overnight in Kathmandu.Â
After breakfast, we will drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu for about 7-8 hours. You will witness nice scenery of white snow-capped mountains like Mt.Annapurna II, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks along the route, as well as green scenery of hillrock, rivers and villages. Enjoy the Himalayan views and mountain lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. The scenery of foothills and ridgeline vistas goes through the Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati and Dhunche, you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. We descended to Syabrubesi for the overnight stay.Â
The first day’s excitement trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi River, flowing down from Tibet and following the Langtang Khola. After a visit to the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche, follow the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge, the trail gradually ascends to Bamboo, passing by a landslide. The trail goes through the subtropical forest, which is covered by oak and maple, massive spruce, fir and blue pine. The variety of wildlife, yellow-throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears, etc., are inhabitants of the forest. Afterwards, you will trek gently to Rimche (2,400m). And at the end, your trail is level to the Lama hotel for the overnight stay.Â
The day starts with a gentle climb, but it soon becomes steeper, climbing through wild forests of hemlocks, oaks, maples and white & pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang khola. The tantalizing glimpse of snow-capped peaks starts appearing along with a fleeting view of Mt.Langtang Lirung (7,244m) through the trees. The trail leads to a log bridge, and then, climbing further, we come across lush meadows of Ghora tabela (2,992m). The trail crosses a stream and climbs past several glaciers of water, passes through the drive mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang (3,430m), headquarters of Langtang National Park. The village has flat-roofed Tibetan-style houses, and the elaborately carved door windows of the upper village are worth exploring. Valley is surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields where buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley are planted, and it is easy to find yak and the wild goats wandering around you.Â
The trail winds through the village and climbs a ridge topped by a large chorten. It then climbs gradually past an impressive Mani wall, crossing a stream to the small village of Mundu (3,442m). After crossing several small streams with wooden cantilever bridges and moraines, you can finally see the monastery of Kyanjiin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous government-operated cheese factory. After having lunch, we can explore the area with abundant panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Gangchempo, Kyanjin Ri (4,750m), Ganja La (5,160m), Yala Peak, etc.
Today is the rest and exploration day of the trek. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory, or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjin Ri (4,350m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m), which is the highest point of this trek. Hike easily for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang Lirung. Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. We also have options to do a side trip to Langshisha Kharka. There are several alternatives sided trips; the surrounding areas of the north have many smaller uninhabited valleys. Spend your night back at the Kyanjin.Â
Today, we will climb to the first base camp of Yala Peak along the rocky glacier trail. You will be quite taken by the views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga, Tserko Ri, and Yala Peak. This is a short training day to climb the summit the next day.Â
Our main adventure day begins with an early morning start to climb Yala Peak. At the summit of Yala Peak, you will be stunned by the panoramic views of Shishapangma (8,012m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Ganchenpo (6,388m), Naya Kanga (5,844m), Tserko Ri (4,600m), Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Changbu (6,251m) and many Tibetan mountains. We then head back to base camp for hot juice and lunch. After a short rest, we begin the descent all the way to Kyangjin Gompa. This is a very long but satisfying day. Overnight in a lodge.Â
We retrace our steps back to the Lama Hotel. Walking through the rhododendron and pine forest, we may see deer and snow leopards native to this region. Overnight in a lodge.  Â
We follow the Bhote Koshi River on the left side of the valley to the north and then return on the opposite side. Passing through paddy and corn fields, we finally descend to our campsite at Syabrubesi.Â
On this day, we will drive back to Kathmandu. The drive presents beautiful roadside settlements and gorgeous landscapes all the way to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will transfer you to the hotel, and then you can rest or shop for souvenirs to mark the end of the adventurous journey. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! We will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.Â
